The Tide is Turning as Croydon businesses save water

Early in 2007 Envibe, with its partners Thames Water, the Environment Agency and Envirowise, identified Croydon’s highest business water users. They were offered free water reviews to identify ways to reduce water consumption and financial contribution towards improvements. Thirty businesses took advantage of the offer and have since made significant savings.

Simple steps such as urinal controls, push taps and cistern devices averaged a financial saving of £800-1000 per site. Payback periods from investment in technology such as urinal controls are as little as three months, and are unlikely to exceed one year.
