A warm welcome from Croydon’s hospitality sector In the hospitality sector providing a comfortable and enjoyable eating or sleeping experience can mean extensive use of energy and other resources to keep standards high. At the start of ENVIBE, local hotels were invited to a forum run by ‘Considerate Hoteliers’* to find out how to benefit from reduced costs through good environmental performance. Many of the hotels present have since implemented actions such as glass, paper and card recycling. If you run a hotel, bed and breakfast, guest house, pub, café, restaurant, takeaway or corporate catering company, there is other sector-specific help at hand too to reduce energy usage and bills. ‘Hospitable Climates’ will provide fact files targeted at your specific sub-sector, regular newsletters, benchmarking information, experts who can offer on site advice and regular forums for exchanging ideas. *‘Considerate Hoteliers’ is a run by hoteliers, for hoteliers. It encourages the adoption of environmental policies and practices among the Hoteliers of London (and now further a field) in a way that enhances the viability of their businesses, the environment and the quality of the experience on offer to their guests and staff. |
